The nearest airport to Bayreuth is Nuremberg (airport-nuernberg.de). From the airport you need to take the subway U2 to the main station (Hauptbahnhof) of nuremberg first. From there you can catch a direct train to Bayreuth every 30 minutes. Other possible airports are Frankfurt (frankfurt-airport.de) and Munich (munich-airport.de) from which you can reach Bayreuth by train (time tables can be checked at bahn.de).
Bayreuth is easily reached using the larger railway hub Nuremberg or Lichtenfels (time tables can be checked at bahn.de). Trains leave Nuremberg main station every 30 mins. Get off the train at Bayreuth main train station. There is a taxi rank and a bus stop directly in front of the station.

Bayreuth can be reached best via the Autobahn A9 (Berlin-Munich). Get off at the exit 42 'Bayreuth Süd' and follow the traffic signs towards 'Universität' (University).
Bus at Bayreuth
Public buses run regularly between the city center and the university. All bus routes start from the central bus station (ZOH). There are two bus lines directly to the university: Bus No. 306 (Birken/Universität) and Bus No. 304 (Universität/Campus). Exit the bus at the bus stop 'Mensa' (cafeteria) and follow the signs to the conference venue. Tickets are available from your bus driver, at the ticket counter at the 'ZOH' (central bus station) and online. Bus schedules can be found on the information boards or at http://www.vgn.de.
